About Andrew Parkes - BA (Hons) Illustration & Animation
Andrew Parkes art demonstrates a wide variety of styles in art. Having studied Illustration and Animation at Anglia Ruskin University Cambridge he has undertaken further training from Central Saint Martins University of Arts London in computer graphics and graphic design and also Escape Studios London in 3D sculpting. He is fluent in using software packages like Pixologic Zbrush, Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe AfterEffects. Working for a range of clients including Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge, Cytoprom and the Royal Marines Commando, Andrew has used both his 3D and 2D graphic knowledge to acompany his artistic flare. Andrew has recently finished a Molecular animation to promote the MRC's (Addenbrookes) Mitochondrial Research for the 2012 Cambridge Science Festival.
As a recent Compettion winner of Pan Macmillan's Book Cover Design for Britain's number one Sci-Fi writer, Peter F Hamilton, (Hosted by the world's number one Sci-Fi magazine SFX) Andrew's work features as the front cover Illustration for Peter F Hamilton's new release the Demon Trap.
The Cytoprom advertisement was published in LabTimes magazine April 2012 (which can be seen on the STILLS page of this website).
